HAPPY BELATED GRIMMICHI 6/15 DAY!

"What? The summer heat is exhausting @_@. And I've been working all week."

So who's ready for some personal rope burn? Huh? HUH? *gets bricked*

"Giddy up bitch."
"I'm not your personal roundup."

Bout time I finished a drawing. I did so much art and fanfiction before I went to my convention in May
that I got burnt out and trying to recover slowly XD.

I know I KNOW this is a day late, but I wanted to finish it for 6/15, the apparently official GrimmIchi day.
For those who are confused, Grimmjow's Espada rank number is 6 and Ichigo's name is "Ichi" =one/ "go" =five
in japanese translation) so his number is 15. That and he admits to wearing 15 paraphernalia.

You know its too bad Grimmjow didn't come into existence in 2006 cuz it would have been perfect since you
know that would have been 06/06/06.

Story Placement

As mentioned above, this image is for my second GrimmIchi fanfic "Among the Willows". In the story, Grimmjow is
an outlaw/bounty hunter and Ichigo becomes a rookie Texas Ranger.

Background

I found a sunset image for the background that was perfect and I tweeked it probably 70-80% not to mention
cropping off quite a bit to make it a bit more credit to me, but not completely credit for the original image I used.
Rest is ALL ME!

Design Reference

I used the website Western Emporium [link] It was a beautiful reference
to old west era clothing design so I mainly used this website as well as like 2% of google image searching for the overall
designs to get the traditional fashion down as well as the colors.

Grimmjow's Design

I played with a lot of color themes to get the final result I have shown here. I tried a mix of dark browns, but I personally
can not see Grimmjow wearing a lot of brown, even if its for the old west era. In the anime, Grimmjow as well as the other
Arrancars and Espadas wear a pure white. The closest thing to pure white that comes in the old traditional western coat collars
is a greyish light tan and it fights great for him without overclouding him with too much black. I tried Grimmjow in a pitch black
coat, but it didn't feel right.

I accented the rest of him with silver on the buckles and metal pieces since there wasn't a whole lot of gold trimmed used back
then as silver was more popular. The belt design I found while researching and decided to use it, but tweaking it just a bit by
adding the "6" for his number rank instead of a star that was on the original image. I also added "Espada" since he's part of Aizen's
outlaw organization called the "Espadas", just like in the Anime lol. The belt floral like designs was also some vector floral imagery I
found that I decided to use, but tweaked it just a bit so that it's not entirely identical.

Ichigo's Design

Ichigo's is a bit more unique in design. Although I stayed overall true to what I used as reference on the website, I decided to tweak
it a bit with the trimming. Ichigo's bankai outfit has red trim lining so I decided to play around with that concept and add it to his vest
and hat. The Shinigami's wear mainly black and white underlining so I decided to put Ichigo mainly in all black and white.

His design wasn't nearly as difficult to figure out as Grimmjow's, but I'm definitely satisfied with it. Just like for Grimmjow, I did research
on more belts and found a buckle that was pretty cool and decided to use it for Ichigo. Quite a bit of it I changed though from the original, by
adding some roses I hand vectored on the sides, colored in yellow to represent the famous "Yellow Rose of Texas" concept. You can't read it
on the image up close, but the lettering above and below the star on the buckle says "Association of the Reapers."

The Shinigamis in the american translation are known as "Soul Reapers". Some people hate that word usage, but I personally find it very
fitting since they're "death gods" and the universal personification of death is the "Grim Reaper". So in my story the Texas Rangers are nicknamed
"The Reapers." The floral design on Ichigo's belt is the same thing with Grimmjow's; did some research, found a vector I liked, and tweaked it a little.
