MY PHOTOGRAPHY ACCOUNT
History of My Art I've drawn since the day I learned how to pick up a pencil and doodle, but my drawing didn't take a stronger turn till 1999 when I first laid eyes on what I "knew" to be Anime. Course things like Transformers and G-Force existed when I was much younger, but I didn't know it was Japanese Animation at the time. 1999 is Right around when Sailor Moon first came out and that's what first got me inspired. And after that Dragonball Z struck my fancy and I eventually feel entirely in love with both shows and I started drawing it. And ever since then I've been drawing Anime, which is my most favored choice of art to draw, however as the beginning of last year my inspiration for Devil May Cry has motivated me to do more realistic gaming type of art (although for the moment its mainly Yaoi, but its the only Yaoi I've ever drawn or written fanfics for), but I've been drawing more of my original character concepts for the game and you'll see more in due time.
How Do You Draw? I simply can NOT draw what is in my mind unless I see it right in front of me. It used to be I stuck strictly to screen shots or pictures for pose references etc etc. But nowadays I used anatomically correct poseable dolls that I can manipulate to ALMOST any pose I wish and I can come up with my own pose ideas. I still have to use reference pictures though for the character's "correct" facial and or body structure and or outfit design, unless its my own then it doesn't matter.
What OC (Original Characters) Have You Created?I believe that the main reason people create them is so that they can create their own fantasy. Not to get OUT of touch with Reality, but so they can immerse themselves deeper into the show they love. For me personally, when I fall in love with a show and the characters, 80% of the time I will create an OC for it. Again, I don't do it ALL the time, but I've created OC's for Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, and an original concept comic book character for the DC Comic Universe. There are a ton more shows I love and watch, but the ones that inspire me the most are the ones that I slap with my own OC's. My OC's have a purpose, but unlike most people, instead of them taking up the entire story, I take the original story and universe of whatever show and I WEAVE my character into the story without majorly changing anything.
Do any of your OC's represent you?Remember how I said, "...so they can immerse themselves deeper into the show they love." ? Well I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one to do this, but 90% of the time the OC I create to be a main "weaved in" character is yes, a representation of myself...an alter ego in different aspects. When I'm completely saturated with a show I love, I imagine what it would be like if "I" were to be in that world.....how would I react to those situations.....how would the original show/game characters react to me? And thus an OC is born. And BECAUSE it is a representation of myself for that particular existing fantasy universe, it helps me to get more personal into the story and makes it easier for me to control what my character says and or does, versus writing a fanfic about original existing characters and trying to IMAGINE what they would say or do. We don't OWN those original characters for the game/show/etc so we can't possibly know for a FACT what they would say or do in our fanfiction or fanart. But the most important thing is that I ENJOY what I do, and if I make an alter ego of myself, its like playing a game in the form of a roleplay.
But of course, I have OC's that AREN'T alter egos of myself and act more along the lines of the "lover" of my alter ego OR they add spice to the story. A good example are the OTHER Sailor Scouts I created to follow my OC, Sailor Stars. Another example is the scientist, Arkainius and his demon master Valkin for my Devil May Cry fanfics.
